Who We Are

The Green Country National Homeschool Honor Society is the Phi Sigma chapter of the Eta Sigma Alpha National Homeschool Honor Society. This local chapter was chartered in February 2021 and is entering its first year. The Green Country National Homeschool Honor Society welcomes 9th through 12th grade students who have demonstrated high academic performance. Together we strive to create an enthusiasm for a scholarship, render meaningful community service, encourage and develop leadership, and foster character and integrity.

Graduation Caps

Who Is Eligible?

Prospective Members must:

  • Currently be homeschooling according to the HSLDA definition of a home school student.

  • Have achieved one of the following test scores within 12 months of applying.

o ACT 26+

o SAT 1200+
o PSAT 1200+
o PSAT 8/9 1090+

o CLT 88+

o CLT10 97+

For the following, the complete battery must be taken including science, social studies, language arts, spelling, reading, mathematics, and vocabulary:

o Iowa ITBS or ITED 90%+

Stanford 90%+

o Terra Nova 2 (CAT 6) 90%+

  • Provide one letter of recommendation from an adult other than a parent.

  • Provide a paragraph written by the student about scholarship, service, leadership, or character.

  • Complete and submit an application form

Member Expectations

The Green CountryHomeschool Honor Society is committed to the four pillars of scholarship, community service, leadership, and integrity. Because of this, our members are held to a higher standard. To maintain your membership as a part of the Green CountryHomeschool Honor Society a student must:

 

 

  • Maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA.

  • Complete 10+ of community service from August 2021-May 2021.

  • Attend no fewer than 80% of GCHHS monthly meetings.

  • Submit Membership Dues of$65 upon acceptance or renewal each year.

Each year all members will receive a certificate of membership. Additionally, graduating seniors will receive honor cords to mark their achievement.
